TECHNOLOGY FOR CHANGE
This year’s theme was Technology for Change: how actors across a broad spectrum of fields are harnessing the power of technology to provide innovative solutions to today and tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities.
We hope to promote visions which discuss how technology can be leveraged to foster positive, sustainable and long-term economic growth and social impact. The Africa Summit St. Gallen 2017 marked a significant milestone in our journey to unravel and celebrate the transformative potential of the African continent. Held over two impactful days, the summit convened a dynamic group of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and pioneers actively shaping Africa's future. Hosted at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), the event offered a unique platform for dialogue between these changemakers and the student community, centered on the pivotal role of technology in driving sustainable development.

Themed "Technology for Change," the 2017 summit explored the vast landscape of technological innovation across Africa. Our discussions delved into how technology is being leveraged to address some of the most pressing challenges faced by the continent, as well as to unlock new opportunities. The goal was to showcase and promote visions that demonstrate technology's capability to foster positive, sustainable, and long-term economic growth and social impact.

We were honored to feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, each contributing their unique perspective and expertise:

- Roger Kamgaing, EVP of Governments & Institutions at SGS and Founder of Time Incubator, shared insights on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship through incubation programs.
- Grace Nakibaala, the visionary Founder of Pedal Tap, introduced her innovative approach to improving sanitation and hygiene practices through technology.
- Obina Ukwuani, a committed social entrepreneur, discussed his initiatives aimed at enhancing education and creating opportunities for African youth.

The Africa Summit 2017 not only served as a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences but also fostered a sense of community among individuals passionate about Africa's future. Through engaging discussions, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities, participants left with a deeper understanding of the critical role technology plays in shaping the continent's destiny.

The insights and conversations sparked during those two days continue to inspire and motivate us to keep pushing boundaries and exploring innovative solutions for Africa's growth and development.
